Last month I wrote about being the lucky winner of an amazing (seriously, amazing) green beauty giveaway. As a mother, birth doula and lactation counselor, I often take care of others but don’t always practice self-care, so it really couldn’t have come at a better time. Receiving these treasures inspired me to take some space and time to nourish my mind, body and senses. Some people asked me to share my experiences with these products so as I use them over the next few months, I will post here and on Instagram.

I couldn’t be more excited to write about May Lindstrom. May is exquisite as you can see in the stunning photographs and videos on her website and Instagram. Her handcrafted products are made from the purest organic, biodynamic and/or wildcrafted ingredients, are beautifully designed and packaged—and they produce results! The genuine love and passion that is poured into making these decadent treats are deeply felt and experienced. That is what makes May Lindstrom so special.

The line is formulated to be adaptable to all skin types, including the most delicate and sensitive types. May describes her own skin as “highly reactive, combination, sensitive skin that erupts in tiny blisters, rashes, and spots of eczema and various forms of dermatitis when out of balance, as well as hormonal acne (post-pregnancy/breastfeeding related)” which I can certainly relate to! I tend to be weary of trying new products for this reason, but neither The Youth Dew facial serum or The Jasmine Garden botanical mist have caused my skin any issues and the products seemed to have only improved my skin. I do get a few flare ups along my jaw line and would like to try The Problem Solver and The Blue Cocoon as I’ve heard great things. In the meantime, onto the two products I have been using for the past month…

The Youth Dew has quickly become one my newest essentials! It’s packed with hydrating plant and botanical oils that give just the right amount of moisture, while softening and soothing my delicate skin. It has a light consistency that is absorbed fairly quickly into my skin, but leaves a dewy, radiant glow. A plant-based CoEnzyme 10 stimulates collagen production, preventing premature aging and UV damage from the sun. As I’m nearing my late thirties, this is something that appeals to me. As part of my ritual, I warm the serum between my hands and breathe in the gorgeous mix of oils. Gently, I apply it to my face (adding an extra drop around my eyes to hydrate and smooth fine lines) and envision my skin returning to its natural rhythm and state of perfect health, like May suggests.

I would describe The Jasmine Garden as a versatile mist that is sensual and exotic. The heavenly scent takes me back to my tropical island honeymoon. I use it often because it smells so good! I spray it on my décolleté, pillows and sheets before getting into bed, in my hair to freshen it up, after cleansing my face or rinsing off a mask, after applying make-up to “set” it… I basically find any excuse I can to use this mist because it smells that good!

Congratulations to May and her beautiful family on the birth of their newest addition, a sweet baby boy!
