Homemade sugar scrubs are easy to make, require a few simple ingredients, and make lovely gifts. I especially enjoy them in the cooler months to exfoliate and moisturize dry skin. This Apple Spice Sugar Scrub smells good enough to eat — and it is, because only natural ingredients are used. The warming spices are quintessentially Fall and bring about feelings of comfort. Did you know that chamomile, which is known for its soothing nature, smells just like apples? The kids and I had so much fun making a special batch of this yummy scrub for their new school teachers!

Gather
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice (I make my own using cinnamon, cardamom, allspice, nutmeg and clove)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup melted coconut oil
  • 5 drops chamomile essential oil
  • Air-tight glass jar
Make

In a mixing bowl, combine the white and brown sugars. Gradually add the melted coconut oil until it feels like a good consistency – you don’t want it too oily but you definitely don’t want it too dry. Add in the chamomile essential oil, spices and mix together. Pour into a pint size jar and wrap it up for a gift — or treat yourself!
