Our kids go barefoot most of the time but when they wear shoes, we like a minimalist design with a low profile which promotes natural foot movement and healthy foot development. I first discovered Soft Star shoes when Judah was a baby. They contain no toxic chemicals, dyes, or pollutants – only natural materials are used in these handmade kicks. The Vegan Hotcake moccasins became a fast favorite and as Judah’s foot grew, we went through several pairs. We also love the sandal. Although they got a lot of use, they held up well enough for Benjamin to wear. Now that Ben is an a toddler, I was really excited that Soft Star sent us a pair of Child Classics to check out! How cute is that little gold star?!
Aside from being adorable, the closed toe design helps to protect his little piggies from sticks, sand and pebbles when we go on all of our adventures and they are naturally water-resistant. There’s enough room for his toes to wiggle around and spread out, and the soles are flexible but durable enough to protect from uneven surfaces and minimize trips. Ben is currently obsessed with putting on and taking off his own shoes, so the adjustable velcro strap at the ankle is an added bonus.
